    Student Portal & Email

    Activate MyUNLV and Rebelmail.

    MyUNLV is UNLV’s student portal system for students who have applied, been admitted or are taking classes. On MyUNLV, students are able to access their student record, search and enroll for courses, and pay tuition.

    New students are automatically granted access to MyUNLV upon submission of an application for UNLV admissions. Login information will be sent to the email address provided in the application. Students will receive an ID number from the Nevada System of Higher Education as their username.

    In addition, students will receive a UNLV email address that must be activated via Rebelmail.

    Rebelmail is UNLV’s official means of communication with students, faculty and staff. Activate your rebelmail account as soon as possible to avoid missing out on important information about deadlines, major campus events, and announcements.

    Housing and Work Study

    Apply for housing and work study.

    Housing – If youplan to live on campusat UNLV, you will need to complete a Housing Application. A non-refundable application fee of $125 is required when a new student submits a housing application.

    Federal Work Study – As a UNLV student, you may be able to work on campus. The Federal Work Study program provides eligible students with jobs on campus. Student eligibility is determined via the FAFSA.

    The U.S. Department of Education provides funding for a limited number of students to participate in this financial aid program. Eligible students are offered an award that will pay their wages during semesters/terms of employment.

    Welcome Events & Campus Tour

    Visit campus! Register and attend these welcome events or take a campus tour.

    Orientation – Receive your class schedule,learn about how to get involved on campus, meet faculty, staff, current, and other incoming students. Special programming is also provided for parents and families.

    Admitted Student Fridays – Attend ahalf-day program to learn more about admitted student next steps, connect with future classmates and staff, and decide if UNLV is the right fit for you. It’s your day to ask questions, explore campus, and share the journey with your family. Available January through April.

    Take a Campus Tour – See the entire UNLV campus through the eyes of a Rebel. This virtual event takes you through every stop on a normal in-person walking tour with a live guide. Take this tour to become familiar with the campusbefore classes begin!The guide will share fun facts about UNLV and answer any questions you have along the way!

    Financial Aid

    Review financial aid and complete verification process, if necessary.

    Financial Aid – Once accepted to UNLV, students are able to view their financial aid options on MyUNLV where they also accept/decline their awards. In addition, students are able to view their account balance for any out-of-pocket expenses.

    DACA/Immigrant students will need to complete an Alternate Need form for financial aid options.

    Acknowledgement of the Millennium Scholarship – Students are initially notified of their eligibility for the Millennium Scholarship program in early August following high school graduation. Qualifying students will receive an award letter from the State Treasurer’s Office describing the terms and conditions of the scholarship program. To receive funding, students are required to complete the Acknowledgement of Award process online.

    Financial Aid Verification – The financial aid verification process is required by the U.S. Department of Education. Institutions are required to collect and maintain specific documentation on selected FAFSA records before disbursing federal funds.

    Approximately 30% of students who submit a FAFSA will be federally selected for verification. Students who are selected for verification must submit the requested documents in order to receive their financial aid.

    If you are selected for verification, you will be notified in one of two ways:

    · The United States Department of Education will notify you immediately after completing the FAFSA through a note on your Student Aid Report.

    · UNLV will inform you through the “to do” list on MyUNLV. In addition, email communication will be sent to the email address listed on MyUNLV.

    Documentation

    Follow up with important documentation including official high school transcript, ACT/SAT test scores, and immunization records.

    Official High School Transcript – You must submit your official high school transcript, unless you chose to self-report your courses and grades via the UNLV admission application.

    Visit the Clark County School District website to request an official high school transcript.

    ACT/SAT Test Scores – You must submit your ACT/SAT test scores to be placed into the correct level of Math and English courses.

    ACT and SAT test scores may be sent electronically from the testing agency using the following codes: ACT 2496/SAT 4861

    Hard copies of official transcripts and test scores must be in a sealed envelope from the issuing institution or testing agency and may be mailed to the following address:

    Institutions sending transcripts through a secure email method may use the following address: ugdocuments@unlv.edu

    Immunization Records – Students must submit a copy of their immunization records (shot vaccination records).

    You can email records to registrar@unlv.edu

    If you do not have a copy and need to request a copy of your records, visit Nevada’s Statewide Immunization Information System.

    Summer Bridge or Early Start Program

    Get a head start by participating in a Summer Bridge or Early Start Program.

    Summer Math Bridge – Afreeonline program designed to help students who are placed into preparatory math classes (Math 95/Math 96) or gateway math classes (Math 120/124/126) but require a different 100-level math course for their desired major.

    COLA 100E First-Year Seminar – This three-credit course is required as part of the general education curriculum. Get a head start and take this four-week course in August to help you prepare for your first semester in college.

    First-Gen Connect – A free program for first-generation college students (students whose parents do not have a four-year college degree). First-Gen Connect introduces programs and student success strategies that can contribute to their success at UNLV (i.e. the Academic Success Center, the Writing Center, time management skills, etc.).

    Transportation & Parking

    How will you get to campus?

    Plan your transportation (i.e. how you will get to campus). If you will be driving a car and parking on campus, you will need to purchase a parking pass.

    Important Dates & Tuition Payment Deadline

    Identify important dates including the tuition payment deadline.

    Access the 2022-2023 Academic Calendar to view important dates such as registration dates, add/drop deadlines, holidays, etc.

    The last day to pay tuition online without penalties is August 28, 2022.

    If your financial aid is still pending and you have an outstanding balance on the day of the tuition payment deadline, it is suggested that you sign up for a payment plan to avoid being dropped from classes.

    A payment plan breaks down your balance into monthly payments. Use the Interest-Free Monthly Payment Plan available via MyUNLV. The payment option is available for a small non-refundable fee of $45 per semester. You can access your payment plan online, 24 hours a day through MyUNLV.

    The administrative drop date for non-payment is September 6, 2022.

    First Day of Class

    Buy Textbooks – Search and buy textbooks ahead of time at UNLV’s Bookstore or another site

    Class Schedule – Have your class schedule ready which can be found on MyUNLV

    MapOut Classes – Check out UNLV’s Campus Map to identify the location of your classes

    Be On Time – Consider traffic and the time it will take to find parking and walk to class
